Introduction and Camera

The Oppo sub-brand launched the Realme U1 with the intention to offer an affordable solution to selfie enthusiasts. As such, the selfie sensor at the front of the device consists of a large 25MP sensor. The camera is equipped with a plethora of enhancements including AI-based beauty and portrait. It is also capable of Face Unlock. The rear camera is no slouch either with its 13MP +2MP configuration.

Performance and Display

Powering the Realme U1 is MediaTek s Helio P70 chipset. This phone is the first to come powered by this CPU. The chipset offers a 13% performance upgrade over its predecessor. This 12nm octa-core CPU offers clock speeds up to 2.1 GHz. The inclusion of 3GB of RAM will ensure smooth multitasking. As for the screen, you get a large 6.3-inch IPS LCD panel with a Full HD+ resolution and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. You get a dewdrop-style notch at the top of this screen similar to the one found on the Realme 2 Pro.

When it comes to keeping the lights on, the Realme U1 comes with a large 3500mAh battery. There is support for AI Power Master, which allocates resources and manages power consumption smartly. As for software, the device will come with Android 8.1 Oreo-based Color OS 5.2 out of the box.
